Overview

GarageCoin ("the App") is a vehicle expense tracking application developed and published by Arvat Vladimir & Victor Ribacov ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data Storage

All vehicle and expense data you create within GarageCoin — including vehicle details, log entries, amounts, categories, dates, odometer readings, and notes — is stored exclusively in a local JSON database on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to:

• Export your data as a CSV file using the built-in export feature.
• Share exported data through iOS sharing options (AirDrop, email, cloud storage, etc.).
• Use the Maintenance Recommendations feature, which sends specific vehicle data to our server (see below).

We do not have access to your local database, and we cannot retrieve, view, or recover your data. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Maintenance Recommendations

GarageCoin offers a Maintenance Recommendations feature that predicts upcoming service needs for your vehicle. To generate these predictions, the App sends the following data from your device to our server via an external API:

• Vehicle details: Make, model, and year.
• Current odometer reading.
• Maintenance log history: Dates and categories of past service entries (e.g. oil changes, tire rotations).

This data is used solely to calculate future maintenance predictions. It is processed to generate your recommendation and is not stored, retained, or used for any other purpose — including analytics, advertising, or building a profile of you. We do not send your name, email, or any other personal information as part of this request.

What We Don't Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not do:

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number).
• We do not use analytics or tracking frameworks.
• We do not display advertisements.
• We do not create user accounts or profiles.
• We do not persistently store your vehicle or expense data on our servers.
• We do not share or sell any data to third parties.
• We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
• We do not access your location data.

The one exception is the optional Maintenance Recommendations feature — see above for details on what is sent and why.

Third-Party Services

GarageCoin does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks. The only external communication is with our own server, used exclusively for the optional Maintenance Recommendations feature described above. All other functionality operates entirely offline using on-device processing.

Data Export & Import

GarageCoin allows you to export your data as a CSV file for backup purposes or to transfer data between devices. When you export data:

• A CSV file is generated locally on your device.
• You control where this file is shared or stored using iOS system sharing.
• The file contains your vehicle information and log entries in plain text format.
• No data is sent to our servers during export or import.

When importing CSV files, all data is processed locally on your device. We do not receive or have access to imported files.

App Storage

GarageCoin uses the following iOS storage mechanisms:

• UserDefaults: Stores app preferences (language, theme, distance unit, selected vehicle ID, onboarding status).
• Documents Directory: Stores the main database file (GarageCoinDB.json) containing all your vehicles and log entries.

Both storage locations are sandboxed to your device and are not accessible to other apps or to us.

Children's Privacy

GarageCoin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal data from any user, there is no mechanism through which children's data could be gathered.

Data Security

Your data security is important to us. Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
• Data is included in iOS backups (iCloud or iTunes) if you have backups enabled.
• Data is encrypted at rest if you have device encryption enabled.
• Data is transmitted over the internet only when you use the optional Maintenance Recommendations feature, and only the specific vehicle data described above is sent.

We recommend enabling device encryption and regular backups to protect your vehicle expense data.

Data Retention & Deletion

You have complete control over your data:

• Delete individual entries: Swipe left on any log entry to delete it.
• Delete vehicles: Deleting a vehicle also deletes all associated log entries.
• Delete all data: Uninstalling the App permanently removes all stored data from your device.

We cannot recover deleted data since we do not have access to your device or backups.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect, process, or store your personal data on our servers, most data protection rights are inherently satisfied:

• Right to access: All your data is directly accessible within the App.
• Right to portability: Use the CSV export feature to export your data in a portable format.
• Right to deletion: Delete data within the App or uninstall the App entirely.
• Right to rectification: Edit your vehicles and log entries directly within the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

International Data Transfers

GarageCoin does not transmit data over the internet except when you use the optional Maintenance Recommendations feature, which sends the vehicle data described above to our server to generate a prediction. That data is not retained after the request is processed. All other data remains on your device regardless of your location.

Legal Compliance

This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with:

• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Union
• California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for users in California
• Apple App Store privacy requirements

Given that we do not collect personal data, most regulatory requirements do not apply to our data practices.
