Overview

Prosop ("the App") is an inventory management application developed and published by Arvat Vladimir ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data Storage

All inventory data you create within Prosop — including categories, items, quantities, prices, barcodes, and item photos — is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to:

• Export your inventory as a CSV file using the built‑in export feature.
• Use the optional AI assistant features, which send specific data to OpenAI (see below).

We do not have access to your local database, and we cannot retrieve, view, or recover your data. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

AI Features & OpenAI

Prosop offers optional AI‑powered features available through a one‑time in‑app purchase. These features operate on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model — you provide your own OpenAI API key, which is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults.

When you use AI features, the following data may be sent directly from your device to OpenAI's servers:

• Voice commands: Audio recordings are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription.
• Photo scanning: Images captured through the App are sent to OpenAI's GPT‑4o‑mini API for item recognition.
• Text prompts: Your inventory context and natural‑language commands are sent to OpenAI for processing.
• Text‑to‑speech: AI responses may be sent to OpenAI's TTS API to generate voice output.

This data is transmitted directly between your device and OpenAI. The author of this app does not intercept, proxy, store, or have access to any data exchanged with OpenAI. OpenAI's handling of your data is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models.

Camera & Microphone

The App requests the following device permissions, only when you initiate the corresponding feature:

• Camera: Used to photograph inventory items and scan barcodes. Photos are stored locally and, if AI features are enabled, may be sent to OpenAI for processing.
• Microphone: Used to record voice commands for the AI assistant. Audio files are stored temporarily on your device and sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription, then deleted locally.

Both permissions are requested through standard iOS prompts and can be revoked at any time in your device's Settings.

In‑App Purchases

Prosop offers a single, one‑time (non‑consumable) in‑app purchase to unlock the AI assistant interface. This transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or transaction details beyond what Apple provides in standard StoreKit transaction receipts on your device.

What We Don't Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not do:

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number).
• We do not use analytics or tracking frameworks.
• We do not display advertisements.
• We do not create user accounts or profiles.
• We do not store data on our servers.
• We do not share or sell any data to third parties.
• We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.

Third‑Party Services

The only third‑party service the App communicates with is OpenAI, and only when you have explicitly enabled AI features and provided your own API key. No other third‑party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks are integrated into the App.

Children's Privacy

Prosop is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal data from any user, there is no mechanism through which children's data could be gathered.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
